LEAHY,  Edward T., retired Sgt. B.P.D. of Dorchester , June 17, 2012.  Beloved husband of Rita "Jeannie" (MacGillivray).  Loving father of Colin of Weymouth, Kenneth of Weymouth, Daniel and his wife Donna of Marshfield, Jean Marie Croke and her husband Peter of Marshfield and the late Thomas Leahy.  Devoted grandfather  of Brianne, Devyn, Jillian, Christopher, Shauna and Olivia.  Dear brother of Margaret Edmunds of Waltham, Esther McGurn of Melrose, William Leahy of Arlington, Patricia Loveridge of FL and the late John, Joseph and Eleanor Leahy.  Devoted son of the late David and Nellie (Cotter) Leahy.

Visiting hours in the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER Wednesday 4 to 8 pm.  Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church NEPONSET Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
Vet. WW-II, U.S.S. Bunker Hill, having survived a double Kamikaze attack.  Member of the Old Dorchester Post #65 A.L., John P. McKeon Post #146 AMVETS, and the Castle Island Assoc.

Special thank you to the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living, Braintree and Active Day of Hingham.  

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA  02472.

Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne @ 1:15pm.

Dear Danny, Kenny and Jean Marie, So sorry to hear about the Loss of your Dad. He was a wonderful man, and it shows how great a guy he was thru his children. May your special memories of him help you through your griefing process. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

We want to extend our most heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I had a lot of laughs with your dad over the years. He was a good man that served his community, city and country honorably for most of his life.

I remember visiting Ed and Jeannie with my dad, Al Flanders, many years ago.

I will always remember Uncle Eddie's big smile and happy go lucky demeaner. He was my favorite uncle and I was lucky to have spent so much time with him, and my cousins, especially Jean; during the summers in Boston. He took us out for Chinese food every summer I was there and always encouraged us to go out and have fun, but to behave and be safe. I can't say we always behaved... It doesn't seem like much but I am so glad that I will always have these great memories of him. My cousins had a great father and Aunt Jeannie a great husband! RIP Uncle Eddie. You will be missed.
