Judith Ann McMahon died peacefully at her home on December 13, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born on April 11, 1948 in Boston, MA to Arthur Joseph and Josephine Helen who raised her in Braintree, MA. She graduated from Braintree High School, went on to receive her undergraduate from Bridgewater State College, and later received her master’s from Cambridge College. Judy was a high school math teacher for 35 years with most of that career spent at North Quincy High School.
Judy is survived by her three sons and their wives, Scott and Nelia of Sterling, Kevin and Jen of CA, and Stephen and Afiesha of Dorchester, 4 grandchildren (Kyle, Brayden, Soraya, Declan), ex-husband Paul of Hanson, brother Joseph of Brockton, numerous nieces and nephews, and her many close friends that are an extension of her family.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Judy had a passion for playing and watching sports, reading, walking, traveling, dancing, singing, playing cards, and going to the casino. Judy had a bright and energetic personality and she was known for her great sense of humor, never wasting a chance to tell a joke. She was adored as a mother, nana, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, and teacher.
Visiting hours in the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER, Sunday December 22 from 2 to 6pm. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church located at 72 Washington St, Weymouth, MA 02188 Monday, December 23 at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment private. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
