MULLIN, Brian of Dorchester, formerly of Inishmore, Aran Islands, Co. Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 12, 2020. Beloved husband of Mary E. (McDonagh). Loving father of Sean & Michael, Brian & Teresa, Ann & Enda, and Kevin & Michele. Cherished grandfather of Julia, Jack, Ava, Triona, and Victoria. Caring brother of Pat & the late Mary & John. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Brian left the Aran islands in 1948 to serve in the Irish army. He then lived in England for 7 years working on several construction sites. Arriving in the Boston area in the late 1950s Brian met his soulmate, Mary, and they have been married for 60 years. Brian was a hardworking man, never to miss a single day of work. It was his strong work ethic that mirrored his values and beliefs of providing for his family. He was a strong advocate for the laborers union, retiring from the local 223 after 33 years of service.
Visiting hours in the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) Friday from 4-8pm. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited. Due to the ongoing health crisis, facemasks and proper social distancing will be required. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Brendan’s Church. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Season’s Hospice in Milton for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton.
