Obituary

MONAHAN, James F. of Dorchester and Hull, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 11, 2022. Beloved husband of Claire M. (Boushell) Monahan. Loving father of Lisa Schneider and her husband Paul; Michele Mullin and her husband Kevin; Brian Monahan and his wife Allison (Daly); and the late James F. Monahan Jr. Dear brother of Marie Kerr, Claire Holt, Eileen Wilson, Jane McLaughlin, and late Patricia Manso. Cherished grandfather of Jack and Ava Mullin; Emily and Alise Schneider; and Charlotte and James Monahan. James proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was also a longtime member of the John P. McKeon Post.

Visiting hours in the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER, on Thursday from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, NEPONSET, on Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of James to the American Heart Association at Heart.org .  Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
