O’SULLIVAN – James M. “Jimbo”, age 69 of Weymouth formerly of Duxbury and Dorchester, left us on Tuesday February 14, 2023 after a long and profound life which was upheld by God.
Beloved son of the late Cornelius and Mary (Walsh) O’Sullivan. Loving father of Matthew O’Sullivan and his wife Paulette of Quincy, Molly Gintoli and her husband Peter of Connecticut, and Connor O’Sullivan of California. Dear brother of Kevin O’Sullivan and his wife Christine of Mansfield, Deirdre O’Sullivan of Weymouth, Mark O’Sullivan and his wife Jane of Southborough, and Brian O’Sullivan and his wife Susan of Marshfield. Thankful grandfather of Amy, Evan, Noelle, Zoe, and baby Jack (coming soon). Also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
James was born and raised by Irish parents in Dorchester where he inherited the gift of gab. He could retell a recent trip to the grocery store into a riveting tale that could make you laugh or even bring you to tears laughing. After graduating from Don Bosco Tech, Jim completed a thirty plus year career with the telephone company starting as a lineman and finishing as a supervisor for projects removing old copper lines and installing new fiber optic systems throughout underground networks all over Boston. He loved the ocean throughout his life, living in Duxbury with his family for about 20 years and enjoying vacations with family in Dennis Port, Cape Cod before that. He had throughout his life professed his faith in Christ in different ways.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, February 21st at St. Ann Parish 243 Neponset Ave., Dorchester at 10:00 AM. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 20th at the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St., (near Gallivan Blvd.) DORCHESTER from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
