T. Owen Trainor of Dorchester, passed away on May 23, 2022 at the age of 87.  The youngest of 7, Owen was raised in South Boston and Winthrop, where he graduated high school in 1953. He met and fell in love with Carole Goggin while dancing at Moseley's – and they spent 65 wonderful years together. Owen was a gifted writer, artist and musician who loved to entertain friends with songs on the accordion.

A graduate of Boston Architectural Center, he worked at Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott and I. M. Pei & Partners, before opening his own firm, T. Owen Trainor Associates in Quincy, MA. He designed several notable structures in Quincy, including the Quincy City Hall Annex and the Ruth Gordon Amphitheater.  But Owen was most passionate about his affordable housing projects, and helping Boston’s underserved communities.

Beloved husband of Carole. Loving father of Mary and husband Kevin Goslin of Norwell, Carole Trainor of Dorchester, and Sara Trainor Callard of Quincy. Devoted “Papa” of Katie Grassini, Hope Goslin, Anna Collura, David Kenny, Stephen Kenny (deceased), and Liam and Aubrey Callard. Owen also leaves behind his beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Owen had a generous spirit and a work ethic like no other.  Whether gardening, cooking, fishing, or building a project for a local school, he lived each day to its fullest and was always willing to roll up his sleeves to solve a problem or help a friend.  Owen made those around him laugh and feel special. He will be missed for his ingenuity, compassion and wit.
